Destinations’ diversity requires flexibility
SeaWide has the flexibility to handle a huge variety of goods. We have to be flexible because the two states we serve—Alaska and Hawaii—are so diverse.
We arrange shipments of almost anything. We ship helicopter blades and railroad ties to Alaska. We ship solar panels to Hawaii. We ship construction materials, non-refrigerated food, and generators to both states. We even ship rum from Hawaii.
Tourism is a key part of the economies of both Alaska and Hawaii, so one of our customers relies on SeaWide to ship electric bikes.
Getting cargo to the ultimate destination creates big challenges in both states. To meet those challenges, we tap our strong relationships with truckers, barge operators, ocean carriers, and air cargo services. Examples:
In our last post, we discussed how SeaWide helps move cargo in the winter to Alaska’s remote destinations.
In Hawaii, containers arrive at the Honolulu port on the island of Oahu, but barges are then needed to get most cargo to the state’s other islands.
Both Alaska and Hawaii have a strong military presence. That affects not only the types of goods transported but also the clearances drivers may need to enter military bases.
Whatever you are shipping—from roofing materials to railroad ties—rely on SeaWide to find creative solutions to your most difficult challenges.
